New Year's Eve Paddle

Experience NYE Fireworks with a free front row seat.

Meet around 6pm for a 7pm launch from Chowder Bay, Clifton Gardens, Mosman. 2 hour parking to 8pm costs $20.  

We will paddle south past Taylors Bay and around Bradley’s Head past many boating revellers to a vantage point in the Harbour off Cremorne Point.  

Early schedule is 8:30pm Pylon Lighting Effects, then 9:00pm Calling Country Fireworks, then 9:15pm Lighted boats glide across the Harbour.

Between 9:30 and 11:30, we will land on a Harbour beach for supper, such as Little Sirius Cove or Whiting Beach. Bradleys Head foreshore is officially off limit.

Then we will paddle out again to watch the 12:00 Midnight Fireworks.

After the fireworks, we’ll paddle back around Bradley’s Head to land back at Chowder Bay and put our gear back in our cars to go home.  By the time we’re packed and loaded, most of the heavy traffic will have gone. Expect to get home around 2am.

Tides at Fort Denison: High 1.4m at 4pm, Low 0.5m at 10:30pm, then High 1.5m at 5am.

Members good grade 2’s and above may register.  Renew your membership first.

This paddle is weather dependent.  It is difficult to remain still in anything except calm conditions or light winds.  Go ahead for the trip will be confirmed 2 days beforehand. Kayaks to grade 2 standard with mandatory all-round white light.
