  A special trip aiming for us to venture deep into the mangroves at a king (1.9m) tide. Approximately 16kms all up. This is a unique adventure that requires kayak manoeuvring skills as we paddle single file finding our way through the trees into a peaceful mangrove sanctuary.
  
  We will aim to launch either from La Perouse, or Dolls Point depending on the winds forecast. After our crossing to Kurnell we'll stop for a short break at a sandy beach for BYO coffee and food, then head over to the mangroves and find our way (literally) through the mangroves. 
  Bring your thermos and lunch This trip is suitable for any grades from Grades 1 up and will be led by Cathy Miller (Enclosed Waters Guide) and Simon Swifte (training for EWG).

  Forward Stroke, Forward Sweep, Reverse Sweep, Edging, Draws and Rudders.

  Open to all Grades, the purpose of this workshop is to practice the above strokes in flat water, perfecting style, grace and efficiency with minimum effort.

  We'll paddle across to a  harbour beach for morning tea and further discussion before returning to Clontarf around 11.30am.

  Kayaks to Grade 2 minimum.

  Forward Stroke, Forward Sweep, Reverse Sweep, Edging, Draws and Rudders.

  Building on the learnings from the Enclosed Water Workshop which you have ideally attended,  the purpose of this session is to practice the above strokes at sea, perfecting style, grace and efficiency with minimum effort.

  We'll paddle out between the Heads to perform exquisite manoeuvres, delighting onlookers before possibly heading to a harbour beach for morning tea and further discussion, returning to Clontarf around 11.30am.

  Kayaks to Grade 2 minimum. Bring on-water snacks and drinks

  Events:

  Friday: Informal paddles and welcome event at the Marquee. Finger foods

  provided but please BYO drinks. 2 evening speakers.

  Saturday: “Newbies” breakfast (location announced on Friday). Paddles,

  trips, training all day as well as afternoon technical skills sessions in the 

  marquee. Dinner in the marquee in the evening with our keynote guest speaker Paul Caffyn. Raffle Ticket Draw. Gear Auction (bring your unwanted paddling/camping gear!) 

  Sunday: More paddling trips and training (including rolling skills). Afternoon

  Nautical Trivia! Pogies on Sunday night.

  Pogies: Traditionally a short video based format but any and all entries are

  welcome including that one photo which is the best shot you got all year.
  Bring Pogies submissions on a thumb drive. Lots of activities at this Rock ‘n Roll Event! Something for everyone! As we get closer to the event all our program activities will be listed here on our website. During the event activities and times may change depending on the weather but all will be displayed in our marquee.
