Saturday 16th of January 2021
Paddling distance up to 15km
Aim to arrive by 7:30am to be ready to launch by 8:00am. Finish by 12:30pm.
The start location is Cronulla Boat Ramp, Tonkin St, Cronulla.
Feel free to express interest whether you are new to the club, coming out of a paddling hiatus or just want to get out for some fresh air. If conditions look a little bit too challenging for the group there are more sheltered options or ways the trip can be made more challenging for old sweats. It will be a chance to learn or practice wet exit or self-rescue skills so dress appropriately.
Possible routes include Shark Island, Jiboon Beach (off water break) and Jibbon Bombora. (note due to a coastal Gale Force wind warning paddling will the confined to the southern coastline toward Jibbon Head and areas further upstream Port Hacking).
Please bring sea kayaks and kit to at least grade 2 standards, water and snacks and suitable clothing for the expected conditions any of your additional safety equipment you have. A head tube will help exposure with social distancing in case an assisted rescue is required.
Leader is Megan. Contact me via the registrants list or the club directory if you have any questions.
