RNR 2018 - Sat am Introduction to Surf

Surf skills for paddlers new to surf.  Suitable helmet required.  Aimed at Grade 2.

For these sessions, registration is first called, first served.  You need to have successfully paid and registered for Rock'n'Roll 2018.  The club reserves the right to exclude paddlers.  The paddle could be carried out in the open ocean unless specified.  All events will be subject to weather on the day.

RNR 2018 - Sat AM Assisted Rescues and Towing

Test out your tow ropes.  Get ideas from others.  Acquire skills so that you can help out your paddling friends.  Aimed at: Grade 1-2

What to do when we capsize. Assisted rescues, self-rescues, scoop rescue, contact tow, paddle float. Try doing credentials methods in flat and open water.   Not an intro session but suit anyone who has had a basic introduction.    Aimed at: Grade 1+.

Palm Beach to Maitland Bay Sun 25 Feb 2018

When: 25 Feb 2018
Where: Palm Beach - Maitland Bay

Grades: 2  and up.

We will paddle from Palm Beach to Maitland Bay. Distance is approximately 24Kms.
All Grade 2s are welcome. Those well progressed to grade 3 can enjoy some insights and
honing of key grade 3 skills. 

Kayaks and equipment minimum to grade 2. Bring some food and water as we will
have some lunch at Maitland Bay and there are no facilities for food and water at Maitland Bay. 

Trip is weather dependent. I will provide more information to registered paddlers close to trip date.

Jervis Bay Explorer

When: Thursday 8 February 2018
Where: Jervis Bay - Greenpatch
Grades: 1 and Above

This day trip will explore the south coast of beautiful Jervis Bay from Plantation Point at Vincentia to Greenpatch and return. We will pass some great beaches and have some excitement along the way!

Total distance approximately 20km in easy stages.

Meet at the car park at Plantation Point, Vincentia at 0900hrs
You trip leader is Neil Gow

 

Participants will have to supply own kayak, paddle,  personal safety gear, food and water for the trip. Kayaks and equipment to NSWSKC Grade One standard. Bring your log books.

 

Skills For Sea Kayaking

New to sea kayaking or just in need of a refresher?
 
This session will provide an opportunity to gain experience in some of the basic skills required for sea kayaking. Skills will include some or all of the following depending on group requirements - boat control, assisted and self-rescues and towing.

Clyde River and Batemans Bay Explorer

Saturday/Sunday 20/21 January 2018  Trip leader: Neil Gow

Level: Grade One or greater.           

Overnight trip. Start Nelligen. Paddle down the serpentine Clyde River and out into the Bay! Bush camp at Yellow Rock (Judges Beach) in Murramarang National Park on Saturday night. Finish Batemans Bay Bridge at3pm on Sunday. Short car shuffle.

Tunks Park, Northbridge to East Killara Sunday 4th of February 2018

We will be paddling to the upper reaches of Middle Harbour Creek. It's really like being in the bush. 26 km suitable for all paddlers with breaks along the way for snacks, lunch and a swim.
