Clyde River and Batemans Bay Explorer

Saturday/Sunday 20/21 January 2018  Trip leader: Neil Gow

Level: Grade One or greater.           

Overnight trip. Start Nelligen. Paddle down the serpentine Clyde River and out into the Bay! Bush camp at Yellow Rock (Judges Beach) in Murramarang National Park on Saturday night. Finish Batemans Bay Bridge at3pm on Sunday. Short car shuffle.

 

Total distance Day One 25km in easy stages. Day Two 15 km (incl a visit to the iconic Tollgate Islands, if conditions permit, and a possible coffee stop at Batehaven!)

Meet at Nelligen Boast ramp on west of river in front of Old Steampacket Inn at 8.30am on Saturday 20 January 2018.

This overnight trip will be restricted to the enclosed sea area of Batemans Bay and the Clyde River. Instruction on basic strokes and safety skills will be included where possible. Participants will have to supply own camping gear, spare clothing, cooking gear, food and water. There are no toilet facilities, potable water or vehicle access at the camp site. Kayaks and equipment to NSWSKC Grade One standard. Adrian Clayton, NSWSKC leader, will act as Assistant Guide.
