Water Ways of Sydney – Lane Cove River

Sunday 22 October 2017
Grades 0-3

A series of paddles along the waterways of Sydney, exploring the watery spaces in between our urban sprawls.

Leaving from Woolwich, we will paddle up the Lane Cove River, passing the waterside mansions, boating clubs, schools and light industries that line the river banks.  We will explore the mangroves of the Lane Cove National Park as the tide comes in, keeping an eye out for local birdlife.  At the weir we meet our turnaround point.

The trip is approx. 20km, which we will do at a leisurely pace.

Read the club paddler grading system and equipment requirements information.

Spaces are limited.

The meeting point is Angelo Street, Woolwich, ready for a 9.00am briefing.  There is local street parking.  There are no toilet facilities here, public toilets can be found at:

Bring some morning tea and lunch.  We’ll have a couple of stops along the way.

NOTE: this session could be cancelled if the weather/wind proves to be unsuitable.
